The two leading presidential candidates, former President Donald Trump, and current Vice President Kamala Harris, both look to Pennsylvania on their campaign trail right now. Trump returned to the state yesterday, holding a rally in Harrisburg. This rally marked his first return to Pennsylvania since he held a rally in Butler, and he faced an assassination attempt. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris is expected to hold a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday of next week, following her star studded rally in Atlanta earlier this week. It is rumored that she will bring her own vice presidential candidate on stage with her, who has yet to be announced.

Given the rumor, many feel confident that Harris’ running mate is Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

Governor Shapiro has been on every shortlist for potential running mates for Harris. Shapiro has not been the only name on the list, with other leading Democrats in contention as well. Arizona Senator, Mark Kelly, is one leading name, as well as Kentucky Governor, Andy Beshear. However, given that the first rally with her running mate is set to be in Philadelphia, many are anticipating Josh Shapiro to walk out as the candidate.

When it comes to selecting her running mate, Harris and her team have been going through countless documents and piles of paperwork from each potential name. Furthermore, they have certainly been tracking crowd support to see what reactions from the general public have been to each name that has been on the rumored list.

For Harris campaign, her and her running mate will visit the main swing states after the Philly rally.

After Philadelphia, Vice President Harris is heading to Western Wisconsin, Detroit, Raleigh, Savannah, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. It is likely that former President Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance will also be going to these swing states, in hopes of making an impact to shift the stance of support in their favor.

Now that Harris is likely the nominee from the Democratic party, as no other name has garnered enough support to be a contender, Trump has focused a lot of his time in his speeches in discussing her. On Wednesday in Harrisburg, he spoke about her race, calling into question whether she was an Indian woman or a Black woman. He was quoted saying, “So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black?”
