Chevrolet has been one of the leading companies in the pickup industry for quite some time. They have an important core focus on what it means to operate a pickup truck with as much ferocity as possible. This compliments well with it’s equal parts class if not American ingenuity. So, as our society advances into the latest age of technology, it’s important to keep up in the race and do our damnedest to dominate the competition posed to us by traditional internal combustion engines. That would be a real shame for Chevy not to do something about it. Except that they are. Chevy is looking pretty fly with their alibi, aka, the Silverado EV.

An engineering prototype of the Silverado EV properly demonstrates how the automaker is evolving with the times. Prototype photos display the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV to be massive. It’s an Electric Vehicle that can prove it’s own worth, right there at General Motors’ Milford Proving Ground.

So far, Chevrolet is confident their 2024 Silverado EV will get the tough jobs done.

For instance, the full-size pickup is likely to offer a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds of towing. The electric Silverado will also be adequately priced. Around $42,000 for it’s base WT trim. The highest trim, however, will hit about $92,669.

Notable new front-end features include narrow headlights and a new front grille.

When looking at the incredibility of electric vehicles in the pickup truck classification, you can tell Chevrolet has their work cut out for them. Ford has been very successful with their Ford F-150 Lightning. That vehicle in itself offers about 320 miles of EPA-rated goodness. It’s likely however, that the 2024 Chevy EV Silverado will surpass that easily.

Chevy believes the Silverado EV will be able to hit about 400 miles on GM’s Ultium battery platform, thanks to the DC fast-charging capabilities. The Silverado EV will be testing out on the city streets very soon.

Needless to say, this looks like it will be a very welcome inclusion into the Chevrolet family of cars. Having an electric vehicle like this will definitely spread the seeds of competition evenly throughout the EV playing field. And that’s what we come to expect out of Chevy, right? Some good-natured friendly competition. That never quite hurt anybody in the arena, to have that as a kindred alternative to the gas-powered energy guzzlers of yesteryear. The Chevy Silverado EV is essentially a smash hit waiting to happen to the average carbuyer.
