If any Philadelphia snowbirds haven’t yet returned from their winter escape, now is the time! Philadelphia has a variety of excellent events this summer that you won’t want to miss. The city comes alive in the summer months as people choose to spend more of their time outside. So, whether you’re a local looking to get out more in the city or you’re passing through for a few days, here are some of Philly’s summer events that you should check out.

ALT 104.5 Philly Summer Block Party

After taking two years off due to the pandemic, the ALT 104.5 Block Party returns! Philadelphia’s alternative rock station is reinstating its tradition of hosting a family-friendly outdoor concert for all. Starting at 5 pm, Philadelphians will have the opportunity to party under the sun and listen to some great music. The headliner this year is Vance Joy, the Australian singer-songwriter of “Riptide” fame. The block party is a free, all-ages event, though it requires a ticket. It will take place on June 5th at Xfinity Live.

World Cafe Live’s Latinx Summer Music Series

Celebrating the city’s vibrant Latinx community, local nonprofit World Cafe Live will host a series of concerts starting in late May. The independent venue has announced eight concerts by established and newer acts from around the Philadelphia area. The concerts will also feature a unique dinner and drink menu every night, ensuring that you’ll get a unique experience every time. World Cafe Live has two stages, the Music Hall and the Lounge, and though both will have live music, only the Music Hall will charge admission. Enjoy some of the city’s diverse culture with this series of concerts!

Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest

For a little more variety in your summer events, the RiverRink is a great way to shake it up! The rink on the banks of the Delaware River becomes an outdoor roller rink that provides a great sunny-day activity by itself. However, it wouldn’t be a festival with just one thing to do. So, the rink gets a summer makeover, complete with a mini-golf course and a variety of fair food and games. The summerfest is an urban fair experience that promises fun for everyone.
