Food Lion is remodeling more than 100 grocery stores in five states including Pennsylvania. Plus, the opening of 20 more. In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic-caused surge in demand for groceries is causing a hiring push at ADUSA Distribution LLC’s facility on Commerce Avenue in Antrim Township.
Food Lion Hires More Employees
In the past four months, two hundred employees have been hired and 100 more are needed. This is according to a news release from Ahold Delhaize USA, the retail group that owns Food Lion, other market chains including Giant Food, The Giant Co. (Giant and Martin’s), Hannaford, and Stop & Shop. ADUSA Distribution LLC is its distribution company.
ADUSA Distribution Facility
The Greencastle-Antrim Development Corporation is a 1.1 million facility. The industrial park serves Food Lion stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware. This is according to Mike Snavely, distribution center lead in Greencastle.

Various Positions Available
The positions through the ADUSA Distribution Family include drivers, selectors, sanitation workers, fork-lift drivers and a facilities maintenance manager. The Remodel has Some Positive Results for the Facility
In fact, the facility’s volume is up 25 percent due to 112 remodeled. Also, 20 new stores. Moreover, more people eating at home during the pandemic, Snavely said.
Distribution Center Caters to Private Store Label and National Brands
A full-service distribution center is a site. It handles everything from dry goods, frozen foods, and dairy items to health and beauty aids in both private store labels and national brands. The workers handle 3 million cases a week or 156 million annually. This is according to Snavely. He said a case normally includes 12 to 24 units.
