TREVOSE, Pennsylvania — Police in Bucks County have arrested a man they say was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that struck and killed a teenager late last month.
On November 27, for his alleged involvement in the deadly hit and run back James Howell, 48, is facing multiple charges.
19-year-old Jessica Kurtz and a friend were crossing Street Road and Philmont Avenue around 8 p.m. when they were struck officials say Howell got out of the truck and helped Kurtz’s friend pull her to the side of the road before he got back into his truck and drove off.
Howell was taken into custody near 52nd Street and Haverford Avenue in West Philadelphia Thursday afternoon by U.S. Marshals.
Kurtz had recently graduated from Bensalem High school and a vigil was held for her earlier this week.
